Mickey mouse games
When Mickey Mouse got invented, back in the days of 1928, it took only three cartoons and a few months of frantic work to achieve monumental popularity, which increases to this very day. Mickey Mouse is perhaps the best known cartoon and comic strip character worldwide. Most children know who the mouse is and what it represents, furthermore, they love to read and watch the wacky adventures Mickey and his friends encounter and solve and when they are offered a chance to participate, even influence the way things go, or manipulate the characters at will, then this is simply irresistible.
The personal computer boom which hit the unsuspecting public in the eighties of the twentieth century has literally changed the world. It lead to the development of the internet, world wide web, emails, computer programs and games and tons of other marketable niches. The wide usability of all the computer related items and accessories and the information highway exploding into the behemoth it is known today not only prompted the Walt Disney Company to expand into this niche, but to provide extensive content on the net as well as for the consumer at home.
For starters, there is the huge website, the Disney homepage. The main page usually has the current animated feature which is being heavily marketed as the main focus, but there are virtually hundreds of links leading to other content, most prominently the online games; we are not to forget all the downloadable content, but the games on the Disney page lead to such an extensive web of pages and content, that we might as well.
There are so many online flash games, that you probably are thinking if they are selling any games at all. Well, they are and they are selling a plenty. Every single console is being covered, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, as well as Mac OS X and Windows platforms XP and Vista, just to name some. The games are as diverse as the program and characters offered by all the Disney franchises combined, from the classic lineup including Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and all the others, to the new animated feature official game “Bolt” and “Wall-E”, including the favorite Disney racing game, based on the Pixar and Disney feature “Cars”, to the “High School Musical” dance and singing games, the list seems endless. Every single nook and niche has been covered, no matter which character or program you like, there is a game with it, with Mickey Mouse alone not as many as with all the other characters included, like the most current “Think Fast” quiz game.
